Anniversary with Future Topics at the 19th PLANTA User Forum
| Translated by Julian Hammer
On May 18 and 19, 2022, PLANTA celebrated its 40th anniversary with a ceremony at the Karlsruhe castle. PLANTA took this opportunity to invite its customers and employees to join its 19th User Forum, turning it into a special symposium. Digitalization, innovation, project management 4.0, the future of the sphere of work — these topics, which are particularly relevant for project-driven companies, were presented to PLANTA’s customers by well-known speakers. Due to the Corona pandemic, the event had been postponed numerous times since the actual anniversary year of 2020. PLANTA thus looks back at 40 + 2 successful years of existence.
PLANTA’s market presence (the name is derived from the so-called “Plantafel” (planning board) which used to be a common planning tool at the time of PLANTA’s foundation) has been steadily expanded. The software company from Karlsruhe has accompanied more than 600 customers from all sectors with about 60.000 users on their way to a reliable PM software. PLANTA’s close customer relationship has always been reflected in its User Forums which present an opportunity for customers and employees to network and exchange their experiences. Here, PLANTA presents its latest software versions and customers usually report their experiences with the software from a user’s point of view.
For its special symposium at the Karlsruhe castle and at NOVOTEL hotel, PLANTA has put together a quite topical program with experienced speakers.
- In his keynote lecture on May 18, 2022 at the Karlsruhe castle, Kai Gondlach (futurologist) gave the audience a glance on trends and possible futures of the sphere of work.
- Thomas Brunschede, Le Bihan Consulting, showed in his keynote lecture on May 19, 2022, that it is on us to actively shape digitalization in society and in project management in order for it to become a success.
- In his keynote lecture, Dr. Reinhard Wagner, Tiba Managementberatung, took a look at changes in 400 years of project management and predicted that projects will always be present in our society.
- Prof. Dr. Marcus Strand, Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg, explained the importance of robots and their interaction with human beings.
- In his presentation, Dieter Schnaubelt, Persönlichkeitswerkstatt, offered suggestions on how to remain fit and motivated in tomorrow’s sphere of work.
Of course, PLANTA itself was a major topic in the anniversary celebration. In some of their presentations, PLANTA employees therefore casted a nostalgic gaze into the company’s past and its software or addressed the future of PLANTA project and co. in presentations on the upcoming software versions. The participants also had the opportunity to try the software at demo counters and to get demonstrations by PLANTA staff. There was also plenty of time for networking and exchange of experiences. A minor fringe program with a guided tour around the Karlsruhe castle, during which the participants were told interesting stories from 200 years of courtly life, provided a certain diversion from future and project management topics.
