PLANTA Project Interface to ERP

 

Overview

 

Using PLANTA-ERP Link it is possible to integrate enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. PLANTA-ERP Link provides an interface to SAP R/3 CO that enables cost data to be exchanged, and hence efficient project cost controlling activities. The link to production planning systems permits outline and detailed planning to be integrated.

 

Working in collaboration with other IT companies which offer ERP/PPC systems, products have been devised to integrate outline planning using PLANTA Project with the detailed planning performed by the PPC systems.

 

 

 

For this purpose, PLANTA offers modules which ensure the integrity of data by simultaneous access to the PLANTA Project and PPC databases.

 

The scope of supply for PLANTA-ERP Link includes the integration of PLANTA Project with one of the PPC/ERP systems listed below:

 

Integration with Baan IV (PCS)

·         Links to customer order items

·         Key dates and actual hours worked to Baan PCS

 

Integration in SAP R/3 CO

·         Assignment of SAP cost objects to PLANTA Project projects

·         Posting/booking of actual hours only to released projects which have SAP cost objects

·         Actual hours data copied from PLANTA Project to SAP R/3 CO

·         Actual costs and purchasing commitments copied from SAP R/3 CO to PLANTA Project (e.g. from procurement)

 

 

 

Many companies use the R/3 Controlling (CO) module from SAP for controlling in accounting in order monitor production costs with the help of Cost Object Controlling. Thanks to integration with SAP R/3, actual costs and the material order commitments are known in CO, but the actual costs of the resources cannot be monitored.

 

The PLANTA Project component PLANTA-SAP Link was therefore added to the PLANTA-ERP Link to enable the exchange of cost information between the SAP R/3 CO and PLANTA Project systems.

 

Functional scope

·         Cost centers The cost centers defined in CO are transferred to PLANTA Project as master data.

·         Planned and actual prices: The planned and actual prices defined in CO are transferred to PLANTA Project for each cost center.

·         Reporting of hours worked: The hours worked reported in PLANTA Project are transferred to CO.

·         Actual costs: The documents posted in CO, assigned for project and cost type, are transferred to PLANTA Project.
